Organisational Challenges

 

At the beginning of the project, we had already chosen a band and seen them rehearse. Using Google Calendar to synchronise our schedule, I had made sure that everyone knew the time scale and to measure this effectively we discussed the construction of a Gantt chart. However what our schedule hadn’t taken into account was the learning process. We were able to record in the first week, but we did not yet have the knowledge to make a successful recording. This meant that planning for the music video continued whilst the audio production could not begin. Setting up the recording studio, was one of the biggest challenges of the entire project. Having booked the studio time one of our band members had to pull out of the session at the last minute. The pressure was on to get the recording done in time to meet our deadline. Steve advised that recording the track should take a day, we managed to book one evening and a whole morning the next week.  Asking the band to arrive after we knew we would be set-up to record. Therefore not wasting time or affecting their performance.
